Order of the Spear
This world is shrouded in an invisible mist called the Fae: a source of power distinctly different from that of divine and arcane magics. The mist, like the world, is unpredictable and seemingly fickle. It is treated much like the sea and, it too, is referred to as being female. The ebb and flow of the Fae has been the impetus of great heroics as well as disastrous ruin.
Faeburn: A condition often found on those who have been the targets, intentional or not, of those who can wield the fae, manifesting in the form of spidery blue lines underneath the skin, emanating outward from the point of contact, and generally spreading toward the heart. Fae consumption in excess of adept capacity limitations can also result in faeburn, burnout- a condition in which an adept destroys or damages his ability to manipulate the fae, and even death to himself and/or those within a radius defined by the capacity of his manna pool plus any excess (5ft/manna point plus 10ft/excess points drawn).
